God I love Logan...

Loving this so far... nice to see Fein and some of the other people from the Ink Born series. Really liking Kaitlyn so far though she's no Dacian!

So I guess we never know why her boss wanted the stone. Because that is in no way important.

On the bright side, this book is fucking over and I never ever have to read it again.

Tell me again how she is this awesome treasure hunter. Please. Her boyfriend/lover just threw her over his shoulders b/c she couldn't run fast enough. I'd think in a profession like hers running might be important. A skill worth having. But guess she relies on the assumption that everyone in the room just wants to fuck her

You know what I just realized? I have no clue why I should care if these guys get the stone. For all I know the people who are going up against them are the good guys here, and she and her merry band of bland sidekicks are the douchebag thieves.

That's a bit of a book-fail.

So, um, silly question...but is this book condoning sexual assault on people? Because as far as I can tell, that is what Logan just did with his magic.

Love how all the obstacles put in her path could be overcome by a child. She is clearly the Best Treasure Hunter Ever! If only in the Ages 5-9 category.

Tho that would explain why she keeps declaring that she is "going on an adventure!"

Oh good, a shopping montage. Because how else can we make it obvious the protag is a woman but with a scene of her trying on dresses. Can't wait to see how her choosing the red dress over the blue one plays a critical role in the plot.

Ok, you totally stole that "eat chocolate to feel better after a magical attack" from Harry Potter.

At this point I am basically hate-reading this book. Though I am rewarding myself with a piece of chocolate after every chapter, so it isn't all bad.

Dammit. They survived.

That was the whole payoff for the "fear the fear merchants" line? Really? She walked on a ship then walked right back off. it took like little over a page. Gee, so glad the author went out of their way to include that in their story.

This book sucks.

please for the love of god stop having everything with a pulse hit on her.

You know what is not a good way to convince me how awesome your character is? Having them repeatedly bring up how awesome they are.

Trust me, if you constantly have to remind people you are awesome, you are in fact not awesome. You are just narcissistic.

Sorry, i can't do it. I can't take this book seriously. Fear merchants? Are you fucking kidding me?! Does that strike terror into anyone?

Fear me, I am the dreaded Fear Merchant!...and it's two for one day so you get two scares for one (taxes not included)!

Jesus christ. Great. Wonderful. Heaven knows how pleasant it is to be stuck with yet another "everyone wants her" protagonist. Those are not annoying at all. I mean, it is totally believable that this self-important whiny brat can walk into any room and everyone in it wants to fuck her. Because she is just that awesome.

Although I have noticed that no one actually wants to stay around her after they fuck her.

um, just because she doesn't act like she wants to fuck you every second of the day it doesn't mean that she is somehow useless at her job now.

You can write in a sympathetic character any time now. Really, I'm waiting with bated breath for a character in which I would do more than shrug if they fell into a volcano.

Think the biggest issue I'm having here is that the main character is a fucking idiot. She is the one who flew to Italy to accept a job without getting any details about what it would entail or how she would get paid, or literally anything other than the the rough geographic location of the place she would be working. And now she is complaining that it isn't going her way. Like, no shit sherlock.

I don't know. The world building on this is trying so hard to be cool and unique, but it also feels like it is trying hard to be those things and is instead coming off as a cheap knockoff of better stories.

Also kinda hope that the two MCs don't spend the rest of this story "biting their lips" at each other. There are other ways to show uncertainty and shy flirting. Add a few more in, please.
