The author is Canadian, so the focus of this chapter is on the MAID (Medically Assisted Induced Death), or physician-assisted suicide or medically hastened death, that is available in Canada.

We are in 2025. The MAID program has broadened since this book was released in 2018..

I finished the chapter with more knowledge than when I began.

There's great words of wisdom found in this chapter.

In sharing about illness, the author writes about her own battle with cancer. She discovered CaringBridge.org, is a private. ad=free site that encourages ill people to invite trusted family and friends to a dedicated online space. I had no idea this existed. Glad I do now.

This chapter reveals what we can do to be helpful and respectful in our efforts to help those whom are dying. Everyone is different and we must be mindful that their wants and desires may be different from ours.

The author writes this book in a loving and thoughtful manner. I am learning much from reading what she has to share on death and dying.

This chapter is informative and very helpful. Answers are given for two questions: Why It's Hard for Patients to Talk and Why It's Hard for Health-Care Providers to Talk

Emphasis is given on why good communication is a shared responsibility.

What a great chapter that deals with death at the workplace. Most of us who've worked for many years experienced a death of a colleague. This chapter gives insight for employees and employers on what to expect and what to offer for assistance when needed.

Chapter Four is titled Inquiring Minds Want to Know! Talking with Children

This chapter is so insightful. How do we talk to children about death and dying? The author loves this part of her job as difficult as it may be. She shares her wisdom and knowledge to help readers better understand the importance of communication, knowing what to say and the most effective way to communicate with children. .

Dr. Kathy Kortes-Miller gives readers sound advice on how to approach the topic of death and dying. She draws from her years of experience of working with patients and their families and saw firsthand the challenges faced by both.

The book causes readers to reflect on their own lives and that of their loved ones. And helps to know what questions need to be asked ,and how to go about fulfilling the answers.

I'm grateful that I'm a born-again Christian. I don't have to fear death because I know where I'll spend entirety. This is an exceptionally good read, so glad I bought this book.

I'm able to talk about death but I realize some people are not. This book is a wonderful resource to have on hand to help me encourage others to talk about what for them is a difficult topic.

I came across this book today and felt compelled to read it. I'm a Canadian and so is the author. I'm interested in what she has to share about death and dying.

Death is a reality in life, and a subject not everyone is comfortable with. It matters to me that people's wishes are carried out when they die. Unfortunately this is not always the case.

This is my opportunity to be educated about death and dying.
