'So you were pretending to be someone you're not. A little bit here and there, no big deal.' I mean...correct?? This might say something about me but I truly do not see Liz's issue. It is none of my business if what someone chooses to tell me about their background is true or not.

Now it's just getting absurd how often she (literally) runs into this boy, considering he is also the ONLY person she ever physically collides with. This is not a clumsy-character trait. This is like they are connected by weird magnets. Not beating the stalker allegations, Caroline!

yet another thing I assumed wrong -- I figured this book was going to span at LEAST a full semester, if not the better part of a year (even if semester 2 got less focus), but no, it has literally been one week on campus.

(also please stand by for a string of time-delayed updates that I wanted to make but didn't have the internet access for)

Gotta admit, I do not understand why becoming a worse person and hanging out with worse people is preferable to not changing.

First Noel mention! Did not know he was Felicity's RA. Not sure how I feel about that.

is...is there someone in 2018 who a) DOESN'T know that the odds of relationships from high school don't have great odds of lasting, esp. if you're long distance, and b) needs to be told this by the campus director in an orientation speech? wtf.

also, what kind of college doesn't have you register for classes until THE DAY BEFORE THEY START. Especially for freshmen!

Caroline wants you to know that Felicity is NOT like Dawson's Creek, okay. One is a teenage soap opera and the other is a "loving exploration about identity and finding yourself when you don't know who you are" (even if they both featured love triangles).

I will say, fingers crossed, this MIGHT be the thing that finally gets me to actually try watching Felicity instead of just wanting to.
(I did see a couple of episodes back in the day because Amy Jo Johnson, but I never felt like I had the time to properly sit down and luxuriate in it fandom-style and now I've built it up so much in my head I'm scared it won't live up)

also wow, lmao, I guess I did not read the summary very closely at all because I also thought she was going to start pretending to have friends (really Felicity characters) when she felt lonely AT college, not that it was her high school coping mechanism and her mom would find out before she even left, thus making Get Real Friends a condition of staying more than 1 semester at university.

is starting
Wait - this is YA? ACTUALLY Simon-&-Schuster-Teen, 14+ YA?? Well hot diggity dawg; I have been under the impression for YEARS that this was going to be New Adult, based on the setting and one other book I read from her. Now I'm even more excited to be starting.
