I hadn’t realized this was an author I’ve previously liked and this narrator is absolutely darling. Off to a good start in a quick audiobook!

I think the H might be the a**hole of a**holes

Quite enjoying this light read but now, heroine got lost in snow and hears wolves, in England!! A few minutes research would have found wolves long extinct by time of story. Also found it a bit off that she asked servants to call her by first name, not done. Butler would have been referred to as Mr by staff but just surname by employers.

"Caroline, why don’t you sit back–”
“No!” she shouted, surprising them both. “I don’t want to sit.”
“Then stand, but keep your bloody voice down.” His eyes narrowed. “And for the love of God do not start crying.”
“These are angry tears, you – you – you dolt!”
One dark eyebrow shot up. “I’m a dolt now, am I?”
“Yes!” Her heel drove down into the rug for emphasis. “Yes, you are.”

She bit her lip. “But what – what about love?”
“Love?” he jeered. “Love is a myth. Love is a fallacy. Love is a make believe dream spun by those who would like to believe the world and the people in it are better than they really are. You’re a duchess now, Madam. And duchesses do not believe in love."
