Status Updates From D-Day: The World War II Inv...

MAKING CONNECTIONS: The connections between my day to day life and D-day are battles. Now what led to D-day was a lot of small battles and wars and in real life I have to battle teachers assignments and homework. But these battles don't end. They lead up to a big war AKA the project due tomorrow. That's how my book is connected to my day to day life.

Characterization: Captain Charles is a general of the group that is invading the Nazi empire. At first he seems fearless and emotionless, Described as a veteran that has been through wars. But when he and his crew are cornered by some Nazi soldiers and he starts acting scared and afraid. (268)

ANTAGONIST: The antagonist in D-day is not really a person but a nation: Nazi Germany. This is hinted alot in the book in the back the book it states "American forces are trying to invade Nazi Germany.". Since the protagonist is america than that hits that Nazi Germany is the antagonist.

STATIC vs DYNAMIC: One of the Charters named captain Charles, he is static. " He was not even startled by the enemy warship coming at his boat" This shows that he will not change emotion even through life or death situation meaning he is a static charter.

CONFLICT: the conflict of d-day is the USA invading the Nazi empire . This type of conflict is society vs society. This is stated at the start of chapter one page 5: "The goal of d-day was no less than the total defeat of Hitlers regime."

POINT OF VIEW: The Point of view is 3rd person. The reason is that the narrator explains war tactics and concepts. Also other chapters Are first person like the diary of solders.

Setting: The setting is Europe, June 6th, 1944. The book is leading up to a mass invasion. Also having the nazi's down fall. And the thing is this was not an invasion for conquest but for liberatoin

Hitler is conquering half of Europe the French are out of material. America is declaring war on Japan and woman are doing all the men jobs.
