Finished "The Sword in the Stone" and the only thing I was able to attach to was merlyn. The talea of Arthur learning from animals held an eventual purpose, but without having him reaching towards a goal, or even being aware of the sword in the stone until the very end, it all felt happenstance and pointless.
Overall I give it a "meh" out of 7

I can see how Disney took the first book and made 'Sword In The Stone'... so far this suffers from slow moments.. confusing moments and although I thought this child friendly.. a cat gets boiled alive the second book...

Its feels a bit like a series of short stories. Disconnected and meandering at times. But Merlyn is such a wonderful character
