"Parmenides" (the dialogue) is a complete mess when it comes to clarity in writing philosophical prose.
Ancient texts or contemporary ones; it matters not: philosophers who have are infamous due to being "difficult to understand" were, to a large degree, simply bad communicator of ideas — just as much as Plato was in "Parmenides".
