Okay, so there is magic and a mystery unfolding. Perhaps something is messing with Catherine's memory as well?? I just don't see how else she could be okay and fine with everything that is happening.

Oh this is weird

I'm just reading like 2-3 sentences a page now and even when I occasionally go back and read a full page, I find I haven't missed anything. This book is suddenly somewhat bearable if you just skip 80% of what's on the page.

Okay, if Catherine isn't a vampire hunter pretending to be a normal person with a lobotomy, I'm just going to do nothing because this book doesn't deserve any real emotion or energy. I'm speed reading at this point.

Cool so I think this is now the 3rd time Catherine has said it's weird that only 2 people live in a castle. I constantly want this awful stilted conversation to end and it just keeps going.

This is a horrible slog. I need to make it to 25%. I paid real money. But omg nothing is happening except awful, awkward conversation and 2 women failing the Bechdel test spectacularly.
