Secondary education must change to more meaningful lessons- teaching those with autism how to dress themselves/basic hygiene. Programs like TEACCH should be brought more to the forefront- it being community based which can be backed up by Andrew Solomon’s work in his book ‘Far From The Tree’ which details the different cultures & the impacts of them on the people in them. Apprenticeships & military good - AAVAB

Dr Paul shattuck is brought up, statistics like 26% were unemployed or not in higher education and received no services. Only 42% if young adults with autism worked for pay.

In chapter 4 the author explored the options available to parents and what would be the best option for them (detailing the pros and cons). She also voiced her own opinion and her own experiences when having to go to trials as a witness for either the school and the parent
