Page 229/350 -- This book is a great reminder that when I say things like "I hate modern technology" I do specifically mean QR code menus and AI slop, not the technology that lets us accurately date fossilized velociraptor bones and recreate what a T. Rex brain would look like. That technology is, inarguably, awesome.

The strength of this book is also its weakness. The author does a great job of preparing a lot of content, especially content that is scientific and easily could be very dry, into an engaging and presentable manner. He blends information and background on geography and plate tectonics, climate, fossil dating, evolution, genealogy, etc into a story narrative that is easy to follow. It also can be pandering at times
