starting a new book when I have four half started, because I’m sick. both in the head and with a cold. I feel a real pressure to not take half read books into the new year which means I will have to tote them all with me to Paris.

Sayers is just having a laugh with this. This chapter featured a policeman with a Scottish brogue interviewing the English butler who adds an "haich" before every vowel. Then who joins the conversation? Oh, the Cockney chauffeur, that's who. It felt like a Vaudevillian skit. Is this all to distract from a less-than-superb mystery? Time will tell. And that time will surely be a railroad timetable.

What a tedious story.

Struggling. It's interesting but jeez, so thorough.

Really dragging myself through now. Completely lost track of the different clues.
