I’m halfway through, and the MMC remains disappointingly one-dimensional — angry, controlling, and deeply misogynistic. Not once did he smile. When he got beaten up, FMC took care of him, but he was furious bc she was busy cooking meals for him…uhm wtf? and he just wants her to lay down beside him and be unproductive… 💩

i get why some reviews didn’t like the innocent, naive heroine, but I actually found emma a breath of fresh air. not every heroine has to be strong or a mary sue. some can be simple-minded, sheltered, and still win you over with a kind heart.
