Status Updates From Origins (Gods of War #1)

Liking the premise and direction of the story so far but there are some inconsistencies in the writing. There is at least one timeline mismatch and just now the writing went inexplicably from 3rd person to 1st. I think some better editing is needed here.

Who is this "me" of which you speak? Once again, this story written in the THIRD PERSON slips into FIRST PERSON.

This book is not ready for prime time. It's still at the draft stage where the authors should be paying people to read it, not vice versa.

"No idea. Follow me," I whispered.

An innocuous-seeming couple of sentences -- until you consider that up until now the story has been written in the THIRD PERSON.

If I had to describe the quality of the writing in a single word, that word would be: Slovenly. Or how about: Lazy. Slipshod? You get the idea.

I was unfortunately too enthusiastic about this one. This has all the ingredients for exactly the kind of story I like but as is so often the case the execution is just not coming together.

I don't like the MCs, the sex scenes made me squirm uncomfortably, and the authors' cluelessness about commas is a source of constant low-level irritation. But OTHER THAN THAT, everything is going JUST FINE. 😠

This couldn't be more up my alley if it tried. I am so stoked to have found this!!!

Drooling on your Kindle is NOT advisable. However, sometimes it just can't be helped -- like while I was reading the sample for this. I practically injured myself rushing to buy it (at full price! by new-to-me authors!). What are the chances it can live up to my hopes? I will keep you updated...
