I’m not convinced that’s true

I think done of my beef is that it’s so un-specific that it feels repetitive and substanceless.

“Fashion provides a visual and readily available vehicle for negotiating self-identity”

Is any book about fashion inherently destined y to o be out of date as soon as it’s published? It might not have been possible for a relevant version of this book to exist!

Okay wait we’re not gonna talk about that study?????

This turn seems more relevant. Fingers crossed it isn’t bogged down by a bunch of other tangentially related stuff.

Proportionally, way too much of this tiny book is background information.

Disappointing how little this book has had to do with fashion so far. We got a tiny bit about fashion throughout history and a tiny bit about mental health of fashion designers and models, but the majority had been a deep-dive about body image and self-esteem. These topics are related to bit distinct from fashion.

Okay now we’re finally talking!

This would be a much easier, less dry read if the writer were better at connecting sentences. Absolutely no fluidity to be found here.
