Status Updates From Whyborne and Griffin Box Se...

#8 Fallow was a bit of a dud. Especially after how fresh and engaging #7 was. Familiar issues were recycled, stakes were set that I couldn't force myself to care about, blahdy blah blah. Perhaps it was just me -- real life had me stressed and cranky and not much into giving shits. I'm hoping #9 will be a lot more fun.

Fallow is such a hard book but SO GOOD.

The endings always get to me. :)

Chapter 52 of Maelstrom is one of the best in the entire series. It has several bits that make me flail around like an idiot (and one of the best lines).

Finished book 7, Maelstrom. I appreciate how this series and these characters are not stagnating. JLH is managing to keep things fresh and dynamic. And unpredictable. Next up: Fallow.

Everybody seems to have a talking problem at the moment. :/ Although Whyborne was never good at it and likes to keep his worries for himself. For a smart guy he's really stupid sometimes.

I'm done with the first book and it was great (as usual). But now I need to take a break, because there is another book waiting for me and I've waited enough.

It just gets worse ... and worse ... and worse. I’m going to CRY.

Chapter 15 of Draakenwood is HILARIOUS, every bit as good as I hoped that moment might be.

I have Concerns. Deep, abiding Concerns. (But I also love the recurring theme that Widdershins is a “horrible murder town”!)

Fallow done. I could cry. All of the hugs for Griffin.
