Definitely a slower start than the first book in the series, but I don't mind a bit more story this time around. The new main characters are interesting, and the return of characters from the previous book is a nice added touch.

Lol? Ben's mates were killed yet everyone gathers in front of Paul's house to do a movie moment shout-out of support and basically say it wasn't his fault? We know this, that was a weak as hell reason to blame Paul yet he took it so hard. Dork. I doubt they'd all gather there, it'd make more sense to gather at the alpha's or hell at Ben's place.

It was pretty obvious the broken Mcreary would be an innocent who likely would have his own story but I'm still interested. Love me some omegas *rolls tongue*

If every book contains bdsm it'll be too gimmicky. Cuz really how am I supposed to believe that all these pairings living in this area just happen to all be into serious bdsm. And even if there's some explanation like "bears are aggressive and it manifests in them being drawn to bdsm" how realistic is it that every single human mate is A-okay with jumping into that kind of play right away? Don't say mate bond.

Backtracking a bit: I hope every pair in this series won't be into bdsm. Especially the way it's introduced here, so far both human mates who had never experienced bdsm play before are thrown into floggings and ball weights and girthy plugs with no damn prep yet they love it right off the bat. Doesn't seem realistic at all, you ease into that stuff. Just seems like bdsm for the sake of spicing up the series.

On the note of the Mcrearys...they feel like such a lazy plot device. Oh no there's this ENTIRE family of bears who are just mean and evil for literary no reason and they're responsible for attacking human mates in both books 1 and 2. I have a feeling they'll be the convenient baddies for a while...sigh.

...I see what the author is trying to do here but it's so...made-for-lifetime-tv it hurts. If Traylon isn't in on this whole thing I'll eat my hat. It's an obvious ploy to show that both the alpha and Paul are at fault and Traylon is probably gonna try to make a bid for alpha, using the Mcrearys to do the dirty work.

I'm confused. I thought the whole point of the claiming was that the mate can get pregnant. Why is Paul upset now?
