Status Updates From Gettysburg

Both armies seem to have infighting that is costing them valuable gains. However the Union seems to be hampered by this more in relation to the dispute between Hooker and Halleck.

Both armies are in states of reorganization before the Gettysburg campaign. Both having weaknesses that could be exploited.

Lee’s Virginia centric view on the war can be seen as a direct factor to Gettysburg and events beyond.

At the 37th percentile of of the book, the battle of Gettysburg is just getting underway; which is not the place Robert E. Lee or George Meade wanted to fight one another. And, on top of everything else, Lee is distraught about his missing cavalry general, the legendary Jeb Stuart; while Meade has just learned that his top general, John Reynolds, has been killed in the initial battle.
