I really wish they would have done a Westcot.

Horticulture: I love the stories about the trees. I could read a whole book about the Disneyland horticulture.

The official story of Redd Rockett's Pizza Port. "Space travelers loudly grumbled about the quality of space food. "it's bland. It's reconstituted. It's boring,' they said.
Really cute & innovative story.

Good to know. In Minnie's kitchen, the Cheesemore refrigerator has a recipe for 'Minnie's Famous Chewy Cheesy Chip Cookies' based on a real chocolate chip cookie recipe. I looked online and others say they are yummy cookies (just don't use the semi-sharp cheddar cheese chips).

(cont.) Ringling's Greatest Show on Earth beginning in 1927, which is why the WDP Circus is there as well.

Ok, I really love this book. It has great info and fun stories and facts but the editing is deplorable.
I spent 15 mins. re-reading this paragraph. Here it is, exactly as printed: In the 1941 animated feature film, the name of the circus seen on a blue and pink sign on a white building as a train leaves is "WDP Circus,"standing for Walt Disney Productions. Sarasota, Florida, was the winter home for John (cont.)

The Dumbo band organ weighs 3-quarters of a ton and on a clear day the music can be heard over a mile away. So it is not played often. I guess only on "non-clear" days. LOL

Walt wisely decided people would be happier riding on Dumbo through the "Happiest Skies on Earth" rather than ride pink ones through an alcoholic hallucination ("Pink Elephants on Parade").

Get an EDITOR, please!!!! If you are directly quoting people, it is personally insulting to them to make their remarks unreadable with grammar & typography issues.

The discussion of the Disney surname on pgs 99-100 is interesting. I've never met or heard of anyone else with the name Disney. They suggest that upon entering Ellis Island, like many immigrant names they were often simplified, or spelled as the sounded. This would of course make frequent variations of the same family name.

Jim Korkis wrote an entire book about the history of The Song of South. In his entry, titled: Joel Chandler Harris, he is very indifferent towards his opinion of the Disney Company & the re-release of Song of The South. Makes you wonder if his book: Who's Afraid of the Song of the South? was just to "sale" more books.

Real critters also inhabit the area. Behind the Hungry Bear Restaurant is on of the secluded feeding stations for Disneylands feral cats.

For Critter Country, more then 165 trees were planted, adding to the 100 trees that were planted.... One Canary Island pine weighed over 18 tons.
