Kids who value learning will have a much richer and more successful life. Learning is not just important for children in school. Learning matters forever.

So many good nuggets and suggestions here. I feel newly equipped to have continuing conversations of encouragement and correction with my kids.

Children rarely run from a home where their needs are met. Who would want to walk out on a relationship in which he feels loved and respected? What child would run from someone who understands him, understands God and his ways, understands the world and how it works and is committed to helping him be successful.

For you to successfully motivate children towards different goals, you must first acknowledge the goals they prefer.

Transformation happens as characters caught, and taught be alert to your character and teachable moments from your life and your Childrens. Proverbs 13:20 – whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Resiliency might be the most important quality for motivated children to have.

Seek to understand before trying to be understood. Ask better questions. Listen longer. Be fully present without devices in your hands. Listen when children are little if you want them to talk with you when they’re older. Answer their questions when they’re little if you want them to ask questions when they’re older.

Be who you want your children to be and teach them who you want them to be. Much is caught and taught. Want them to be successful.

Without them, knowing their heart is safe with you your children may not listen. They may not believe you they may not care what you think. They may not want to achieve the goals you have for them. Your compliments and corrections may fall on deaf ears.

Caring more about the quality of your relationship than the quality of Childrens behavior allows you to affect their behavior.

For your children to want what you want for them, for changes to occur, and for improvements to retain, your hearts must be intertwined.
