Status Updates From Drop of Hope (The Omni Towe...

I absolutely loved the first three books... but I gotta say.... I’m not loving this book. The main heroine is NOTHING like the previous. And oh my lord I want to STRANGLE Alec. I never loved him to begin with, but damn the man is making it difficult to finish this book. Some day. Maybe.

Her father is pissed and wants to attack the Coalition, but gets told it could hurt Ariana, so backs off. Amongst all the confusion, Jason picks up messages from Ariana, Alec too; the touch and get more information from Ariana, and a name. Sofia, to whom from Sergei could kill her.

Ariana heads to Sergei's quarters to cool down in the pool, only Paval was there and drugged her. Alec confronted Hayden about what he's doing- wanting the knowledge and to stop courting. Now all hunts for Ariana whereabouts. Ariana wakes to strange place and Pavel wanting her to grow a plant for him- a potato plant. She does as asked, and lives for now.

Jason seemingly isn't drunk buy affected by something else; at Alec's quarters a confrontation with her father and Jason brings answers. The vial, with some of Kayla's blood, is suppose to make Jason's abilities stronger. Hayden doing the research for courting rights; father doesn’t want to lose her as an empath.

Sergei, Lars and Brant were at Hayden's club, due he's being investigated for illegal activities- thus the vial that Ariana smelled. Alec and Ariana bond; hopefully knocking Hayden out of running. Jason's antics caused problems at a club of Hayden's that he's been arrested for it; Ariana has been calming he's emotional state.

Ariana and Hayden go to dinner at a club he designed, Sergei and Lars are there as well. Hayden isn't happen of them being there; Ariana can smell emotions, each different in scent. Brant shows up and Lars reveals a vial that contains mysterious spirit energies.

Sergei checks on the construction of the tower and would like the progress to be better; some people in the Coalition don't like the towers or want to speak their language..While checking on the plant, Ariana meets Pavel, to whom finds what she does interesting.

Ariana explains to Alec that she was experimenting with Sergei what Kayla feels with Carl, believes that they maybe rely on the abilities too much. She sees that the other people rely on different ways to communicate than energy. Alec declares he wants to be with her; Hayden drops by and says the same- her father also approved.

Ariana has Brant accompanied her to a public sector to find a plant for Sergei, using an iced drink to act as barrier to the people. She settles upon an arctic raspberry that comes from Russia; Sergei loves it and assists in growing it; ending up with sweet fruit. He may fight for her... later Lars thinks he's nuts for wanting to be with her.

Jason will survive the curious events of the cavern, unfortunately for Ariana it's a regrettable day. Her parents come to visit (in the med bay) and while happy to have them both be alive; they try to steer her life as they want. Then there's Hayden and Sergei and who have Ariana- and Alec, whom may have the bond of her.

Once in the cavern, the plan is to have her and Jason help guide the equipment to where it needs to go. Ariana finds the river bubbling with raw energy and wants Jason to touch it; unfortunately, that goes wrong and he falls in; she used energy to dam the river for rescue and healing her brother- bringing on unconscious.

The journey to the river was proving quite difficult for Ariana, due to the closeness of people and all the emotions- making her uneasy. Any water source, she can reinforce her shields; before getting to the camp, Alec temporary bonds to help protect Ariana; it is enjoyable by both. As they head to cavern, she feels the intensity of people that had once lived in the building.

Ariana and Jason have words still about her going to the surface; she wants to go because it can help everyone. Jason wants her to be bonded to a friend of his, Ariana flat out says no to that and wants to be out of the bubble she's been in her life. Sergei invades their private pool and says he'll be there to help if she needs it.

Ariana tries appease all involved, its straining her energy but she'll be involved. She's a dual channeler- water and earth, can both treat the mental and physical wounds making her an empathic. The towers were created to preserve the people and return to a former glory. Ariana's powers means that she could work herself to a dangerous state. It would be better if she were bonded, at least protected.

Ariana's unique abilities makes her sensitive to those with/out energies; it’s why her life has been guarded. Jason thinks Alec new position is going to his head; Lars is also drawn to Ariana, which pisses Jason off. They need Ariana's help with the river due to the difficulty of equipment and dangers of the area. She agrees and Jason's pissed.

Kayla and sergei talk about the fragile alliance between the towers and coalition, it could break and lead to another attack. The river excavations are hitting snag and need figuring out. Kayla begins water training by simply gathering water to her with Ariana having a small bond with her. Kayla could sense emotions from them.

Ariana enters the being built new tower for the Coalition, ruin rats; Kayla and Leo argue over where the offices should go. Ariana tells Kayla of her offer of training assistance, she meets Sergei and intensely feels his energy and seems to be attracted to him. Jason is not happy about it.

We meet Ariana rushing up to the medical unit of the towers, for a young channeler fire has been burn. Alec briefly distracts with asking if she can be involved in Kayla's training, which she has been negated. Ariana agrees.
