Status Updates From The Never-Ending Present: T...

Good chance I’ll be able to finish later today. It’s going to take my a long time to sum up my thoughts.

This book is treading tough and uncomfortable waters.

Just went through a long chapter about the deaths of other musicians suffering similar fates to Downie.

And now a lengthy chapter that discusses aboriginals and the residential school program. Not an easy topic.

Inevitably, a story about The Tragically Hip (note: the definitive article “The” must be capitalized) must turn from the hip (music) to the tragic (death)’. And it is here the book gets dark and I expect to be tough to plod on. But plod on we must. Gord’s life - and death - is a part of us all.
