Really appreciate this book's informative take on anti-haitianismo and race in the Dominican Republic. There are small things I don't fully agree with like the perspective on Haiti "invading" the Dominican Republic and Dominicans refusing Haitian rule. In reality, white elite Dominicans refused Haitian control of DR because it would mean that the Black and mixed race majority would have more control. Stil informative
