During the third book in the series, a hurricane hit the Fort Myers area, including Pine Island where the main character lives. At the beginning of this book, they are cleaning up the mess the hurricane left. Two days before I started reading this book, Hurricane Ian hit the exact same area with 150 MPH winds tearing it apart.
