Well that was certainly a chapter. I am just assuming it was a disciplinary requirement to include that information but it is the one I am least likely to go back to

It is so refreshing to follow someone as they unflinchly and unequivocably note how identity-based prejudices interfere with cognitive reasoning, how prejudiced attitudes prevent critical thinking to the extent that you might think the truth is a lie if it comes from outside what that prejudiced viewpoint allows

But is the not making eye contact, pausing to organize your thoughts mid-utterance, actually a reliable stereotype (that the speaker is dishonest)? I haven't found that to be the case, personally (my personal "reliable stereotype" is the reverse anyway)

I really appreciate how precise and clear Fricker's writing is. It is hard to read because the ideas are complicated and require deep concentration, but is also easy to read in terms of the way the words on put on the page
