Status Updates From الیوت فیل خال‌خالی

I gave this book to my mother's kindergartners today as a graduation gift! :-) I read it aloud to them in class, too.

I take this back to the library today, and I liked it so much I want to have a final read for the road.

One more read of this tonight, purely for fun. My mother expects to return tomorrow from her medical tourism trip so I'll have this one ready for her to dive into.

I love this book more each time. I hope to complete one more read of it today and polish off the last draft of my review. I hope I'm adequately expressing the message this book is projecting to the world.

A lovely book by an author with a heart for storytelling. I'm going to read it again before revising and rewriting my review. Now I'm looking forward to the second Little Elliot book!

My opinion on this one is fluid, but I'm loving it. Mike Curato has the heart of a "Sound of Silence" storyteller in the Paul Simon mold. One more read to help me figure out my exact rating and how to express my feelings on this book.

Let's read this again to clarify my opinion before I think about writing a review. I like the pretty simplicity of the story Mike Curato tells, and his cinematic illustrations.

I loved Mike Curato's YA graphic novel Flamer. Let's see what he accomplished in his debut picture book, from 2014.
