War Dogs is set up in this book! @80%. I am so amazed by how everything is so planned out by the author.

This is moment where Karina starts flexing her own power via her mother's wealth. I honestly can't blame her. I can't say I'd turn down a condo in NY after a bad break up either. Uilleam has no idea what he's gotten himself into. They're seriously such a power couple (just not yet). Individually I would never want to piss off either of them.

Sooo looks like Uilleam may have played a role in Karina getting fired? He wanted her off the job.

I'm remembering that Karina got fired, but now I'm wondering how Uilleam reacts. If he continues to help Claire or if he fucks her over for Karina.

I really appreciate how this author crafts the narrative. She allows her readers to fill in the gaps and think for themselves. I feel so often while reading romance authors think readers are idiots and that they have to explain in detail every single scene, interaction, event that occurs in the book. This author doesn't do that.

Literally the next day after the conversation Uilleam had with Kit the warehouse catches on fire. Of course Kit planned it, but didn't execute it. He never knew the details about Karina, this was revenge for Uilleam ruining his business dealings with Mario.

This is the big falling out conversation between Kit & Uilleam. Uilleam mentions needing help with a girl, but Kit is so pissed about Uilleam ruining his business dealings with Mario he walks out before any more info is shared.

Ah, here it is. At the same time Uilleam kidnapped Luna, he separately (a different job) killed 12 of Mario's men in that South American country (can't remember). Kit did business with them and is pissed Uilleam killed Mario's men without consulting him. Looks like this is the reason for the revenge Kit enacts (warehouse fire). He never learns about Luna.

Z refused to train Luna so Uilleam turned to Kit, it looks like

Luna's been kidnapped. I'm wanting to pay attention to Kit's interactions with Uilleam to remind myself of Kit's role again. I think he was unaware of Luna and just pissed Uilleam interfered with his business dealings with the sex traffickers.

Without Karina Uilleam would have flat out killed Luna.

Uilleam is driving to Carmen Santiago's house now. I forgot they actually lived in an area of Mexico controlled by Cartels.

On one level this couple is total goals. How they love coming home from work to each other, waking up in the morning to each other. The author is brilliant about focusing on 'enters and exits' - how they notice each other when they enter a room. The juxtaposition of the dangerous secrets they are keeping from each other is delicious. A more sophisticated Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibe.

Carmen Santiago was just introduced. I believe she's Luna's mother. The drama surrounding this connects to Nix and gets kind of convoluted. I don't know if I want to read this or skim this subplot. The Claire/Hugh subplot is actually interesting me rn

This is a random detail I forgot about: Uilleam put 3 tvs in Karina's living room because when he visits he wants to watch the news from 3 different stations at once.

Sooo Karina knows French, Russian, and Welsh? And Uillean is not suspicious enough to seriously look into how an orphan lived a privileged enough life to learn all these languages?

This author writes simultaneously the most passionate & classiest sex scenes.

This couple. I adore them <3 They are so cute together and then bam Uilleam is erasing shit off of Karina's computer when she's not around and Karina is meeting up with her mother (while Uilleam thinks she's an orphan) who happens to want to murder Uilleam. Soo much subterfuge.

Now it's at the Claire/Hugh convoluted drama. I don't remember the details and I don't want to read this entire subplot. Just skip ahead on how it connects to Uilleam. I think somehow Uilleam is connected to their business dealings in a shady way that ends up pissing Karina off.
