Status Updates From The Wizard's Dessert Cookbo...

I will be working on three more recipes tomorrow. Then I will finally have the official rating for my first cookbook review.

I try to read through these recipes but the ambiguous and vague instructions just make me believe that I’m going to be wasting so much food.

I’ve read through most of the recipes by now and let me tell you...its not looking great.

Have already tried 2 recipes...and its not going so great.

Also don’t even get me started on all the store bought stuff in this. Like puff pasty?? I mean it takes a while to make (and you could’ve just written “or use store bought” or something) but like at least put it in there!! Puff pasty is sooooo much better when made from scratch it’s ridiculous!!

Apparently the translation from French messed up the recipes. Which makes a lot of sense. At least it’s getting me out of my reading rut. And it’s cool to see some of the recipes I guess

This is the first cookbook I’ve found that is actually incompetent. Like, it’s actually interesting how poorly written / bad some of these recipes are.

Once I realised how bad the translation was and how I can't trust anything in the book because of that, I kinda lost interest. But I want to read through the rest, and write a review. And possibly contact the American publisher to complain.

Tried my first recipe from this and it was a total failure. Something is definitely wrong in the write up or the translation. Problem is I don't know if it's the measurements or instructions. The photo doesn't match the instructions either, looking like low muffins (made in a tin) while instructions says make small balls. I won't give up though! Going to try other recipes.

It might not be spooky exactly. But it IS a cookbook for witches and wizards and that counts for October right?
