Chapter 13 has another claim that may need updating, namely that GWAS had found no significant associations with clinical depression. Now see: Roots of major depression revealed in all their genetic complexity.

Looks like it's time to update that claim of no data.

Well, I just learned about Fecal microbiota transplant. I remember when "eat my stool" used to be an insult. Now it's a therapy!

At the end of chapter 5 (The human life history), the authors write as if they've never heard of cognitive epidemiology. They mention the inverse correlation between socioeconomic position and adherence to public health messaging, but never mention IQ which predicts both.

Fairly heavy going so far. Fortunately I've seen a lot of these concepts in other books about evolution I've read. The writing style is unnecessarily ponderous; the authors or their editors should read and heed books on plain language such as the Oxford Guide to Plain English.
