This is proving to be a difficult read. The story itself is good, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Not to mention a protagonist that makes all the wrong decisions and is so frustrating it's a struggle to make oneself read through her dialogue and thoughts. Maybe if she wasn't written to be so annoying/haughty/self-serving it wouldn't seem so laborious to read about her.
