Slow getting into for me, the writer’s voice has taken me a little while to adjust to from other books I’ve read lately. However, I’m beginning to adjust finally and am enjoying the book so far.

Silas' bratty attitude is getting tiresome. His refusal to learn about being a Methuselah (😒) makes his worry for Remy seem disingenuous, since that's what is keeping him (as far as I know at this point) from actually seeing his friend.

It's kind of odd that Silas uses the word pretentious in his thoughts yet he can't pronounce metaphor correctly. Or that he doesn't know what a prerequisite is. Also I'm not sure what I think of the words Methuselah and Mana as they are used here, maybe if the story ends up with some kind of biblical backstory that will make more sense.
