Interesting departure from the typical “nab the noble” plot.

Epilogue: It was mentioned in chapter 4 that Ash probably was in his early thirties, so if his mother was just five-and-forty, did it mean that Stanhope had seduced a young girl?

Chapter 14: What was Pru's intention for waiting on the landau while Ash walked around the vehicle and helped her down but she ignored his arm and hurried up the steps? Playing hard to get?

Chapter 12: I have a feeling that this wasn't really Callie Hutton's work at all---the intercourse scene was incomplete. Callie Hutton's intimate scenarios were very elaborated---from kissing, to foreplay, to post-copulation.

Prudence didn't do her name justice. She became a shameless wanton and fornicated with a man who was neither her husband nor bethroted nor with a promise of marriage.

The phrase, "what was left on her lap," was already an assumed fact that Phoebe had a protruding belly. Unless Prudence also had a bulging tummy then that's the time she should be surprised that Ash was able to tell the difference.

How did I know that Phoebe was evidently enceinte? Elementary. In chapter 8, it was narrated that "Phoebe, Prudence’s twin sister, jiggled her youngest, Lady Genevieve, on her lap. What was left of her lap, that was, since she was well into another pregnancy."

Chapter 9: It was idiotic of Prudence to be unnerved that Ash was able to her and Phoebe, her twin sister, apart. It was too simple. Phoebe was very pregnant and she was not. That alone was already a given.

2. Ash despised the haute ton but his mother and father belonged to the upper class, thus, that made him part of the higher echelon, technically speaking, even if he was born at the wrong side of the bed. So does that mean that he hated himself as well because of his parents?

There are 2 things that don't add up.
1. If Ash disdained the beau monde, why did he divulge his background to an aristocrat? You won't share anything personal to a person you dislike.

Chapter 5: It was said that Ash kept on goading Pru so that he could prove that Pru was just a society princess like the other else. However, in my opinion, he was like a smitten puppy who desperately wants a girl's attention but the only way to get it is by teasing her mercilessly.

What was his mother's point for disobeying her father? It's not as if the earl, Ash's biological father, was going to marry her.

If that was the case, she should had consented to marry a man the baron wished her to accept to avoid scandal. As part of the ton, I'm pretty sure she knew the repercussions. If she was part of the lower class, I would understand if she remained unwed as she has no reputation to uphold.

Chapter 3: It was confusing. In the previous chapter, it was alluded that Ash's mother belonged to the lower class, however, in this chapter, it was narrated that his mother was a baron's daughter.
