I read it in a long afternoon as part of Fierce Hearts: A 2022 Charity Anthology of Romantic Fantasy & Fantasy Romance For Ukraine.

This is supposed to be written by one of my favorite authors incognito. If that truly is the case, I'm saddened by the use of profanities in her new works. I do like the dark story thus far, but I don't normally read books with profanities no matter how "vanilla" they seem to be. The only reason I'm continuing on is to see if this really is the author whom I seek.
