SETTING: There was many times refereed to in this book. The first time period was 1891 when Dr. James Naismith created basketball. Then the rest of the book is 1950's onward. It was published in 1997, meaning that current players like LeBron and others aren't included into the book. But there still is hall of famers like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, etc. There is also legendary coaches like Auerbach and Wooden.

All the characters are the people who started the game of basketball. So far the story has been telling you how basketball come about. I like the story because its about basketball, and I like everything about it.

i'm learning alot of things about basketball that i never knew before. i didn't know about how the players got thier basketball names. micheal jordan didn't get a nick-name he was just a good player.

i read about micheal jordan. 1984-1993, he was inspired be embarrassment. when he went to Emsley laney school in wilminton he tryed out for the basketball team and he sometimes mist and he never gave up.

this book is really good. i learned about the 24 sec. clock, it's how when the clock hits 24 seconds the player has to throw the ball in that position.

this book is fun and educational. the story of basketball tells you who really started basketball and how the first games were played. some players had ways to score a shot.
