The magical realism in this novel is so vivid and intense. Also, I enjoy the flashbacks presented in the chapter, as well.

This is one of those books I had for a while, and felt now was the time to begin reading it. Signed by the author, at an October book signing at the one and only LGBTQ+ bookstore in Manhattan. Besides, as someone who sees his Mother Goddess on The High Priestess Card of the Tarot, how could I ignore this cover.

At this time, at the beginning of Chapter 9, "Fuchsia (1840)."
