Chapter 1 included some very broad overviews of metrics and assessments Technical Services departments have done in the past, do in the present, and might do in the future. Nice enough, but I saw nothing new that could be incorporated into my library's current processes.

Chapter 2, on holistic collection assessment, may be more useful. I like the table on selecting assessment data points based on project goals.

I came across this while doing some research on whether and how we might change our non-journal collection assessments for a couple newly proposed doctoral programs. I don't know that this will help me with that, but I'm interested in other assessment ideas it might bring up.
