Slow burn

Would it be worth it to DNF this? I really don’t like this book.

I was just wondering why this was going so slow before realizing that it is significantly longer than the last one. I would say this is a good thing, but man I do not like Lexi. She’s not getting better. I’m just finding that she is getting on my nerves more and more. 2 stars? Where is the writing I liked from this author, sis?

Reading a few chapters here and there between school work. Still don’t like Lex, I’m calling her that now. I don’t think that’s going to change, but that’s okay. She is what she is. I’m starting to see her as an unreliable narrator though and that kind of makes it difficult to trust her senses. Anyways, I’m pretty sure I could rate this a 3 star right now and that wouldn’t change, but we’ll see.

I’ve read lower star ratings where they said they loved Nick. I’m not there yet, but I’m remaining hopeful that he’s not too bad after all. I mean he just had his first scene where he acted like a decent human being, so I’m assuming it’s coming. Still don’t care for Alexis, Lexi, whatever. She has this job that she doesn’t take seriously at all. Maybe her work is chill, but I would have been fired.

Alexis is my least favorite main character of the series so far and I must say that Nick is looking like my least favorite love interest. I thought Nick was cool from when he had appeared in other books, but here he just seems like an ass. Alexis, despite what she says, is a spoiled brat. There’s no way around it.
