One thing I cant shake, is the two prominent side characters who are also people of color... are called "heathens"

Like i get that in context its like "oh its a joking nickname because they have spirit and such" but im just like "you couldnt have thought of any other word to call them? these characters of color??"

I feel bad saying this but... I don't like Sol, she's overly naive and ignorant with no skills in this setting that I'm just like "...what do you do?"

This book isn't ground breaking, but it is exactly what I needed in terms of a safe adventure with familiar romantic subplot beats
