Two bookclubs later this month for this book. But what does it say? What is it about? I need to read it again, because I have forgotten more than I ever knew, which doesn't seem possible, but somehow that's just what I did.

The picture George Ilsley paints of his father, is that of a dad who was very flawed . This non fiction book is so honest and touching. .
Ilsley does not excuse himself about his own emotions and feelings about his dad .
I admire and applaud his unflinching honesty
So far there are no heros in this memoir. This book make me feel such compassion, but also, some uncomfortable feelings too.
