“do not go out of your house until you have acquired your powers of discernment— that is, until you have had your day meal, which keeps discernment and removes rashness. It also lessens one's carnal appetite for whatever one sees in the market.”

Eat […] and do not drink on top of it. And if you drink do not eat anything on top of it. Do not withhold your excrement or urine. When you eat during the day go to sleep; when you eat at night walk before you sleep,”

“The practice of those who indulge in luxurious living is to serve coarse food first and to rekindle the appetite by offering delicate food only afterwards; this is contrary to the Sunna, for it is a device for increasing the intake of food. It used to be the Sunna of the people of old to serve all the courses at one and the same time, and to line up the dishes of food on the table,”

“regarding the order of the foods, precedence should first be given to fruit, if there be any, for that is medically fitting. Since fruit is more quickly transmuted, it should lie at the bottom of the stomach.

The Qur'an enjoins the serving of fruit first—in God's words, ‘and fruit of their choosing;’ after which He says and ‘the meat of birds they desire.’”

I’ve learned so much from this book. From how to treat guests to how to host and how to eat. It ranges from the smallest of things to things we take for granted. It’s really helped enlighten me and help me see how important the littlest of things are for not only yourself but others, as well.
