I'm not sure - did the Bow Street Runners actually HAVE ranks like "Inspector", or did that come with the rise of the Metropolitan Police Force in 1829, almost a decade after the events of this book?

Problem here it feels like the author can't decide if she wants to adhere to the (frankly hypocritical) rules of Upper-Class Regency England, where a woman marrying several steps below her station would affect not only her, but their children's chances in Society as well - or if she wants a more modern reading where class matters but not as much....

Looking for where the "Sexually Explicit Content" that the author warns you about begins? Here it is - but they stop short of actual intercourse, if that's what you're looking for!

Why when the hero is a police officer or in law enforcement, and he tells the heroine to stay put as he engages in a dangerous situation, does she feel the need to jump out like it’s her job. That’s not endearing to me or strong, it’s fucking stupid! I completely forgot about this happening in the book, and it being the only thing I hated.

This book is hilarious and delightful! The H and h are witty and intelligent and enjoyable to read. I'm only 25% the way through and every page has been very satisfying.
