Ultimately, the brain is a demanding beast. It consumes more energy than any other body organ. Because of that, a large part of what keeps Homo sapiens busy is trying to reduce the processing burden on the brain. It’s perhaps a sad insight, but I believe that from the biological standpoint, we’d essentially prefer to think less than we do!
