Continuing my male MM romance author streak for November

I had to force me for the last quarter of the story (35% to 60% ...) to keep reading. Half of it is alternating both protagonists thinking of the other how great he is and who he himself in non-deserving of the other, the other half is an unrealistically mean mother and an even more unrealistically cheerful daddy.
Since I expect this only going back and forth now, I'll mark it "lost-interest".

I am a bit confused about the characters. On the one hand it sounds like Aiden is a super cool dude, then it also sounds as if he is one of the kids at school that gets bullied.
Carter on the other hand - what is he? A Nerd? What's his job, anyway? Would maybe give a better picture.

This is going down the drain, I am afraid. The dialogs are stinted, the humor not funny, the characters are weird. Alone the setup - famous (!) tattoo artist closes shop for a week from one day to the next when his brother's buddy (whom he has not seen for years, nor ever talked to much) asks him to go to a wedding as his fake date. Yes, he had a crush on this guy when he was 15, but Carter is not even gay, so WTF?

I just had a whole damn epiphany about my childhood, and that is not supposed to happen in my fluffy smutty romances, goddamnit.

Omg... fake dating and close proximity/sharing a bed?! What other greatness does this book have. I’m squealing. How have I not reads this one before.
