Some authors have only one speed and one sub-genre as their specialty and I think this one needs to stick to hers!!! The books she usually writes are fantastic, but THIS is not a great example of great work!!! Had I not already liked this author's other series, I wouldn't give this author the time of day strictly based on THIS example!!
