Look having the character drank someone else’s drink to prove she thinks about personal safety and going on about how she took and teaches self defense classes, isn’t going to cut it. Normally? Sure, but not when you then have her get on an unknown persons boat and taking unknown drugs. Err.... this goes against everything we just learned about her!!
