Nearly finished with the book but somehow, i dont know why, it failed to connect with me. I found that the events (and how Poirot discovered them) were just unnecessarily complicated. Compared with Niles - that one is much more concise and logical - this one just isnt so. Maybe because this was Christie's first attempt, so maybe she felt like she had to make something really grand?

Wasn’t expecting the n-word drop, but other than that it’s great!

This book didnt manage to grab my attention early on like "Nile"; it is only now, past half of the book, did I feel more interested.

Also, why are most of the Christie mysteries happened to be around rich white people?
