It’s wild how much traditionally masculine characterization and a minimal emotional narrative will drag down a novel. And I’m into kink, but this is turning it up to 11 near TPE territory. At the outset they talk about it with the familiar coy wink but then when they actually get there it’s like too many toppings, not enough sundae. Why are books like this?
