The h seems too stupid and stubborn. I can’t read anymore. The antagonist is slick, slimey and selfish all while he sucks you in. She is playing with fire and is too blind to see. The H is puffed up, prideful, and needs to talk more. If he would tell her how he feels a lot of hurt and frustration could be avoided. He is also Not watchful enough.

The dagger has a tracking spell. Sebastian was able to follow the spell, so he has the means to (doubtful Avery would have left the ONLY tracker with HIM when they were still in Teirn). Why did they spend the whole afternoon aimlessly following the harpy?!

Also, as the crew is readying their possibly mortal approach to sirens infested islands, Lucia offhandedly remarks that the sirens’ song wouldn’t affect her. She’s nothing special, so it’s because she’s a woman. So the Duke of Grenaldia is prepared to sacrifice his own son on this voyage but never thought to train a group of women for it?! It’s medieval, but Lucia still manages to roam about quite freely.

I’ve given up on keeping track of the things that make no sense in YA/NA et similia. But this really baffles me. The Duke of Grenaldia wants a ruby that’s almost impossible to obtain. Anyone who’s tried has died or worse. Our Heroes offer to fetch it and... the Duke sends his son and (presumed) heir with them!
