The prose bogs it down a little. The amount of times I see Amory’s name in a single small passage repeatedly comes across as clunky.

They’ve known each other two days and the possessiveness Phillip suddenly has over Amory is off putting just a little.

Chapter 5 surprise this universe has magic.
