Borderline action thriller. Kinda odd that this was chosen as a Booker

I'm definitely enjoying this a bit more now. MacConnachie and Ansell's dynamic as it unfolds proves increasingly engaging, and my issues with the lack of specific contextualisation falls away in light of the rich, emotive, kinaesthetic and inherently somatic style of writing. It's deployed excellently and I can't wait to read more.

Somewhat enjoying it so far-- as someone else said rather existential in its commitment to this sort of purely phenomenological, experiential writing; sparse in context, but colourful, lively, full of movement. Struggle to situate myself a little within it due to the lack of context but somewhat enjoying the ride so far.
