“In the Penal Colony” is haunting and captivating. I kept viewing it like a black box theatre production, which would be impossible to actually replicate accurately.

Metamorphosis was a bummer, though I realized I remembered it incorrectly and after reading it again found it sad in new ways.

Found myself enjoying A Country Doctor, and the myriad little stories that are in that section. There are many things that go right over my head, but other bits that feel eldritch in very human ways.
